My name is Russell Hampton, and I am a graphic & web designer from Lafayette, Ca. I take pride in constructing immersive brand experiences specializing in corporate branding and management for both online and print media. I have a passion for creating clean, stylish media that can always push me as a designer. I am constantly on the prowl to improve my design and development skills.

I like to set goals, and actively pursue them in order to maintain a high volume of professionalism within my work.

Design is always evolving, and I feel that I designers have the opportunity to change how people think. People spend more time with media than they do sleeping, and designers have the ability to go past the aesthetic and be part of a social good. It's not always about finding the right typeface or color combination, but rather coming up with a solution that can better communicate an idea. One of my favorite quotes is, "If you are not prepared to be wrong, you'll never come up with an original." I firmly believe in this idea, because successful design is about a process to find a solution. If you are not prepared to hit bumps along the way, then you do not fully understand the power design has in our world today.

If you are not prepared to be wrong, you'll never come up with an original.

I grew up in the beautiful Bay Area with my parents and two brothers and I have lived in San Diego for the past 6 years ever since I moved down here for school to earn my degree in Graphic Design. My whole life I have been extremely active, involved with all the sports you could think of, but not Curling...I am still working on it. You can always find me running around on the basketball court, I sort of have an addiction to the sport.

My whole life I have been extremely active, involved with all the sports you could think of, but not Curling...I am still working on it.

Once I got out of college, I took a job as a graphic and web designer for Scantron Corporation. I know what you are asking yourself, and the answer is yes, my entire job involves designing the Scantron test forms. I have to make sure all of the bubbles are evenly spaced between each other. Really? C’mon people! As the Senior Designer at Scantron now, my job is to maintain the corporate branding strategy with both web and print based materials. I work on projects that range from the corporate website, informational flash videos, to packaging and tradeshow design. I simply love what I do and could not imagine doing anything else with my life. It's hard work, but I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for all of my friends and family that have supported me along the way, thanks guys.
