My name is Russell Hampton, and I am a user experience and user interface designer from San Francisco. I take pride in constructing intuitive user experiences by specializing in visual design that demonstrates functional aesthetics. I have a passion for creating clean, stylish media that can always push me as a designer. I am constantly on the prowl to improve my design and development skills.
Design is always evolving, and I feel that designers have the opportunity to change how people think. People spend more time with media than they do sleeping, and designers have the ability to go past the aesthetic and be part of a social good. It's not always about finding the right typeface or color combination, but rather coming up with a solution that can better communicate an idea. One of my favorite quotes is, "If you are not prepared to be wrong, you'll never come up with an original." I firmly believe in this idea, because successful design is about a process to find a solution. If you are not prepared to hit bumps along the way, then you do not fully understand the power design has in our world today.
Besides coming up with all of this design jargon, I live a very active lifestyle. I am always involved some kind of sport, but not Curling...I am still working on it. You can often find me running around on the basketball court, I sort of have an addiction to the sport.
I simply love what I do and could not imagine doing anything else with my life. It's hard work, but I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for all of my friends and family that have supported me along the way, thanks guys.
